Teeth should be brushed gently at a 45-degree angle for two to three minutes at least twice per day. Flossing is also something that should be done at least once per day. Cleaning the tongue is also necessary for good oral hygiene, and you may also want to consider adding mouthwash into your routine.

Regular Cleanings are Needed

While regular brushing and flossing are essential, in order to completely remove plaque, a trip to the dentist is needed. Regular visits to a general dentist for a cleaning and checkup are essential for your dental care. It's recommended that you go to the dentist for a cleaning and a checkup twice per year in order to remove plaque and for your dentist to be able to detect any potential signs of dental decay. While twice per year is recommended, some require cleanings more frequently while others may only need to go once per year.

Another thing to consider when it comes to dental care is the cost. Costs for routine dental care will vary depending on whether or not you have dental insurance and the condition of your teeth and gums.
